Final Major Project
Booker Skelding

This door has been chosen as the first image to open the exhibition. It represents barriers and how difficult it would be for me to open that door and pass through it. The many locks, bolts and padlocks preventing access. The fear of the unknown.
If you look closely, there are thin slithers of light visible through the gaps between the two doors. I wonder whats beyond the door.
The door is a giant and I can't possibly look beyond or contemplate breaking through it. So I will continue to wonder and look at its haunting, daunting beauty. What opportunities could there be beyond that door?
I have many post edits of this image, monochrome, sepia, bleach filter, however I believe this colour version to be the best choice for the exhibition.

Another Barrier

Captive

Being Followed

Bound

This is the door where this project began, I have photographed this door many times and keep returning to photograph it again and again. I have applied many different filters in editing to experiment with different finishes. This edit is applying a fine art filter in Nik Filters package via photoshop. This particular filter, boosts the contrast and structure.
This door represents how daunting it can be sometimes for me to leave the house. The many locks, bolts and padlocks fixed to the door is another barrier to get beyond.
There is a small trap door within the door in the bottom right hand section, it has three hinges, can you see the seams of light peering through. This is an escape route for me, a smaller door to edge my way through at a slower pace. I can peer through before actually taking the plunge to walk all the way through to the other side.
